I finished listening to all six today! For many of these, I hadn't read the original text before, so I really appreciated your measured reading pace, which was just right for me to keep up with without missing a single word.

The one fic that I had read before was "Independence Wars", and I found that actually hearing the Spanish names and words in the fic really added to my experience of the story. I liked how you interpreted Maria's narrative voice throughout, and that last section, with all her determination and hope and all the foreshadowing of the canon ending, was especially moving.

Also, whew, the sexual tension in "Mr & Mrs Smith"! I haven't really known where to start with looking for Doctor Who fanfiction; now I'm inspired to go look for more Ten/Martha fic. XD

Oh, thank you, that is a lot of listening very fast! The West Side Story one was probably my favorite to record, I'm such a fan of that movie and of immigrant stories and of stories from the point of view of young girls, so I really connected with this and I had fun reading it aloud (though I'm still not sure whether I made the right decision about just speaking the quotes, rather than editing in music recordings or singing myself).

And I have similar feelings about Doctor Who fanfic! I love Martha as a character but I really haven't read much fic about her, but I asked for help from the old f-list and was happy to come across a fic by significantowl, who's a friend and a writer I love in Merlin fandom, so that worked out nicely. I'm hoping I can do another Martha podfic or two soon. :)
